XF vs CF What’s the Difference?

XF vs CF Retrievers

The new XF series carbon fiber retrievers are made with stronger carbon fiber (30T). They also have a woven (4k Twill) carbon fiber outer layer to increase strength and durability. This also helps prevent deamination issues experienced in the CF models. With switching over to a new manufacturer, We’ve learned that the molds used for the CF poles were not properly tapered from end to end. That is what led to the sections becoming stuck together without there being any debris inside the pole. The XF series extends and retracts much more smoothly than the CF models. And last is the aluminum threads on the base of the pole to keep the sections secured instead of the CF plastic threads.

Long story short, The XF is stronger, sturdier, and a much better design than the CF.

How to tell the difference between XF & CF

The XF series has a visible woven carbon fiber look on every section. The threads on the bottom of the retriever are narrower and are made with aluminum instead of 3D printer plastic. The outer shell is completely smooth on the XF, and the CF has a ‘ribbed’ like texture to its outer shell.

I am also in the process of adding labels to every pole to have each model labeled on them.
